04.12.2025 Major investment in solar energy

We are going to reduce our carbon footprint in a sustainable manner – two new PV photovoltaic systems for the Schaewen Group.

With an investment volume in the high six-figure range, we will install two large PV systems with a total output of approx. 900 kWp at our production sites in Wetter an der Ruhr and Hückeswagen. In addition to this, several electric charging stations will be installed for charging our vehicle fleet.

We are consistently implementing our CO₂ reduction targets as part of a voluntary sustainability strategy. The PV systems will reduce annual CO₂ emissions by approximately 500 tonnes. This corresponds to the emissions of approximately 2,500,000 kilometres driven by a gasoline-powered car or the CO₂ absorption of around 25,000 trees.

The systems will be installed on the roofs of our factory buildings in 2025. Over 95% of this generated green electricity will be consumed directly at the factory sites.

With the new PV systems, we aim to meet our customers’ demands for lower-emission products while fulfilling our social responsibility for more sustainability and reduction of CO₂ emissions.
